About the Alva Mural Society

Established in 1997, the Alva Mural Society was founded by Fred and Betty Winninger, along with Wayne and Beverly Kinzie. The founders were inspired after a trip to Toppenish, Washington--a community with a striking and successful mural program. They returned to Alva with a vision of bringing art to public spaces. Since then, the mural society has commissioned one or two murals each year, partnering with skilled artists, using high-quality materials to ensure each piece remains a lasting part of Alva’s landscape.
